The new year is a fresh chance at a new beginning and it’s SO easy to go overboard when making resolutions. When our expectations are out of whack, our whole idea of who we are can get really out of focus. Instead of making resolutions this year, I’m thinking of ways to scale back and give myself a little more room to breathe. When we slow down and take time to restore ourselves, our brains thank us! For me, focusing on the positive is a real game changer.
They say that positive visualization sets the brain up to receive the goodness that a day can bring. In the morning, try picturing your day going perfect in detail. Tell yourself that it’s going to be a great day and tell yourself why. Then, make it happen! Of course, not every day is going to be perfect, but picturing it can get you a good part of the way there.
I hope as you move toward the new year that positive self-talk sneaks into your daily routine and elevates you to heights you never thought you could reach!
